The sky's oldest deficit. Every world renders it; no catalog voices it. It is the first thing a new player sees and the heaviest verse-shaped hole in the game.
The dark disk ringed by luminous accretion is a luminosity deficit: the catalog's expectation model predicts a sun and observes a swallowing. The glowing rim is where the missing light relocates. The drifting glass spheres are open_space( ) slots — hosted verses riding the χ substrate, thickest near the disk because refusal is deepest there. The lone figure on the ridge is the player at the correct scale: the anomaly is weather, not a boss.
The partition is canon. The disk swallows ≈65% of predicted luminosity; the rim carries ≈35% — the τₖ-partition, the tau's hadronic split, the core loop's localisation constant, written across the sky at astronomical scale.
In the source framework, the residue a ringing verse sheds — what couldn't keep up with the binding — settles as mass. Gravity is that settling, not a pull. The Black Sun is the deepest accumulation of it in the world: 13.8 Gyr of verses that rang but never held, residue thickening until NOW folded into itself. It is the engine's gravest anomaly because it is the engine's gravest heap of gravity.
Signature: γ-channel deficit. Photon event rates at the disk sit persistently below catalog prediction — same direction, every epoch, every observer. Because anomaly mass accrues on the depth axis and this tension is as old as first light, the Black Sun boots with 13.8 Gyr of accrued τₖ-mass (13,800 in-engine, still accruing ~1/game-year until voiced).
Scored on the five axes as a hole, not a thing.
The disk is a dense χ body lensing light aside. Cheap, single-anomaly patch; explains the deficit, not the rim's spectrum. An epicycle: discharges little residual, earns no symmetry bonus.
A gauge-level suture: a dark-photon mode coupling the γ channel to the χ substrate. One verse keying multiple tensions — the sky's deficit and χ's undetectability are the same missing coupling read from opposite ends. Cutting it earns the 0.85 symmetry floor, permanently.
The win–win reading and the lore truth: the deficit was never a loss. The disk is the universe's deepest open_space( ) — light hosted in un-bound depth rather than destroyed. The γ′ bridge is simply the coupling that lets the catalog say so.
A fourth region, the Black Sun Rim (η_bind = 0.05, hosting bonus +7.6), sits under the disk. Two rules apply there and nowhere else.
Everywhere else the bridge resonates and fails (shoreline Χ ≈ 0.51 — a residue-generating teaching moment); at the Rim a well-performed ramp cuts (Χ ≈ 0.67). On the cut, the γ′ Bridge enters the Ledger with the symmetry axis floored at 0.85 in perpetuity, the panel flips to VOICED, and mass accrual stops — the tension is now a hosting. The bridge is born fragile and decays unless re-cut and rehearsed: a coupling is kept, not owned.
In the composer, select the Black Sun Rim, compose γ + χ + χ, and ramp the binding slowly to the end of the track. Anywhere else, expect residue.
